Client profile - Zane Holmes - Dolphin Surf CraftA true local right from the beginning Zane was born at Allamanda Hospital on 25 March 1981. He was raised on the Gold Coast until the age of 14 when the family moved north to Kawana Waters. Zane decided his true roots were here in the south and headed back to the Gold Coast seven years ago. This is when Zane bought into the very successful family business, Dolphin Surf Craft. Any sports promoters dream, you will see Zane in a lot of places. He joins you for breakfast on the Nutri- Grain box, he’s also on television doing extreme sport and looking very buffed whilst doing it! Zane is one of the very fit Kelloggs Nutri-Grain Ironmen. He has been involved in surf lifesaving since he was just five years old as a nipper for Northcliffe Surf Club, has competed professionally in the Kelloggs Nutri-Grain series since 1998 and has won the title five times. Other titles he has won include the Australian Ironman Title, the QLD Ironman Title six times, the World Ironman Title and the gruelling Coolangatta Gold. Zane is a true credit to himself not only for his sporting honours but also for his new found love as a business owner. Zane bought into Dolphin Surf Craft in 2004 with no business experience at all. He says “prior to coming here I had never really even worked at all, having been a professional ironman since leaving school”. Zane is the first to admit that he has had a very steep learning curve and still is only touching the tip of the iceberg. However, as Dolphin Surf Craft are one of our clients we can say that with little experience or not, Zane has proven himself a champion again, but this time in the business field as Dolphin Surf Craft definitely is a very successful business with a very positive future indeed. “In the years I have been a Business Advisor I’ve never seen a rookie in business come up with such innovations and industry changing ideas, Zane and his partners are just naturals,” says Baker Affleck Moffrey Director, Damien Moffrey. Zane admits that his biggest passion in life is the ocean. Whether he is surfing, fishing, training or just being around the ocean, it’s definitely when he is at his happiest. Zane states that, “I feed off the energy the ocean generates and the calmness it creates in me." Dolphin Surf Craft are doing a promotional deal at present. If you purchase a “new” ski or board, Zane or Kristyl Smith (the current World Iron Woman champion and past Australian Iron woman champion) or Nick Crilly (former Australian and World Single Ski champion) will personally take you to the river and give you a 30 minute introduction to using your new purchase for free! So next time you're around Leda Drive, Burleigh Heads pop into Dolphin Surf Craft and say hello to Zane and his team. |
