Miriam studied a bachelor commerce and bachelor law at UQ, graduating with honours. In 2003 she began working in the accounting industry. Miram worked at a big four firm on the Gold Coast before joining the Baker Affleck Moffrey team in 2009. Miriam studied and completed her CA certificate in 2006 and her commitment to her studies and accounting saw her receive two merit certificates. Miriam not only brings great knowledge and experience to the Baker Affleck Moffrey team but her soft, gentle nature and sense of humour makes Miriam an absolute pleasure to work with. Clients are always commenting on how Miriam makes their accounting ‘stress free’. Miriam has done a bit of travelling over the past few years to Europe and Africa with a large portion of that travel spent in England and Zimbabwe visiting family. In 2003, and then again in 2004/05, Miriam travelled with a team to Uganda on a mission trip with Watoto Children’s’ Ministries. During her time in Uganda, Miriam, her husband Scott and the team worked alongside local tradesman to build a house in a village for children orphaned by civil war and disease. The following year Miriam and Scott returned to help build a school room at the local high school, located in the same village as the house they built the previous year. They also had the privilege of meeting the eight children and house mother that now live in the house they helped build. During her trips to Uganda, Miriam was given the opportunity to finally meet, and spend time with her sponsor children. Miriam also hopes to learn the flying trapeze! And no doubt with Miriam’s motivation and drive, she will.
